Posted On: Friday, February 26, 2010February 23, 2010 - The Officers and Members were pleased to host representatives from the Fireman's Fund Insurance Group. The fire company was given a grant of $5,339.00 for the purchase of equipment. This is the 2nd consecutive year Darby has been awarded this grant. The money was used to purchase 1 3/4" hose and (2) Stihl power saws. The eqipment allows Darby Fire Company #1 to protect the residents of the borough with the most state-of-the-art equipment available! A heart-felt thanks from Darby Fire Company to the Fireman's Fund for issuing us this grant. After the check presentation those in attendance were treated to a buffet-style lucheon given by our firehouse hall chef!
